The different rights of different status groups at universities (professors, research assistants and doctoral candidates) will be discussed. After an introduction to the current legal situation, the focus will be on use cases.

Prof. Anne Lauber-Rönsberg (TU Dresden) and Felix Magin (Law Officer, KIM Konstanz) will address the different rights of different status groups at universities (professors, research assistants, PhD students). They will present the complex interplay of copyright law, employment law and good scientific practice in a clear, practical and for laypersons understandable way. After an introduction to the current legal situation, the focus is on use cases. For this purpose, researchers and the community in the field of research data management (RDM) were invited to contribute their own use cases.
