Chemotion ELN
Chemotion ELNExternal link is an open-source ELN that is designed towards the needs of chemical research and related disciplines. It is being further developed within the NFDI4ChemExternal link and contains a variety of discipline-specific functions (e.g. Ketcher as a structure editor, ChemSpectra for analysing various spectra, templates for documenting chemical experiments). The generic LabIMotion extension enables the creation of user-specific templates, so that the ELN offers a high degree of flexibility. The University of Jena provides an own Chemotion ELN instanceExternal link. For more information, please contact the local NFDI4Chem team.
ELN test instances
NFDI4Chem provides various ELN test instancesExternal link (e.g., chemotion ELN, open enventory, herbie, SciNote, elabFTW, open BIS).

Repositories
Various chemistry-specific repositories are being developed and made available as part of NFDI4Chem:
-
Search Service
The NFDI4Chem Search ServiceExternal link provides centralized access to overarching datasets and search results from various chemistry and chemistry-related repositories within the NFDI4Chem federation.
-
Terminology Service
The Terminology ServiceExternal link is a repository for chemistry ontologies. It is a central point of access to the latest versions of these ontologies providing comprehensive information about their scope, application and curators.
-
Knowledge Base
The NFDI4Chem Knowledge BaseExternal link is a place for all knowledge regarding Research Data Management (RDM) in chemistry.
-
Training
- FAIR Research Data Management: Basics for ChemistsExternal link
- Chemotion ELN Hands-on WorkshopExternal link
NFDI4Chem offers both curricular teaching, and training for scientists. You can find introductory videos on research data management in chemistry on the NFDI4Chem YouTube channel External link.
For the development of curricular teaching at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, we work closely with the project DaLiJe (Data Literacy Jena).
If you are interested in training or cooperation in curricular teaching, please feel free to contact us (helpdesk@nfdi4chem.de). We create individual offers according to your wishes and needs.
If you are interested in workshops regarding fair RDM at your institute, please contact us about the opportunity to conduct an in person event at your location.
