The FAIR-DI Award presented by FAIR-DI e.V. recognizes an excellent PhD thesis in the field of physics, materials science, or chemistry, which stands out by its exceptional handling of research data following FAIR principles. FAIR stands for Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Re-purposable (or Re-usable).
The recipient of this award will have the opportunity to present their thesis at the FAIR-DI European Conference on Data Intelligence 2024External link and will receive a prize of €2000.
The FAIR-DI European Conference on Data Intelligence will be held in Karlsruhe, Germany, on the 27-30 October, 2024.
Selection Criteria
Besides the scientific quality of the thesis, the award committee will emphasize exemplary data management and publication practices. FAIR-DI values adherence to the FAIR principles for effective data publication, emphasizing metadata as essential for data utility and reusability.
Eligible candidates must have obtained their PhD title in 2023 or later. Please submit your application by July 31 2024.
