Train the trainer workshop Reserach Data Management

This workshop is aimed at people who wish to teach the fundamentals of research data management (RDM) in their workplace or institution and act as multipliers in the development or expansion of RDM infrastructures and services at their locations. In addition to various topics related to the RDM context, such as:

- Research Data Lifecycle
- Research Data Policies
- Data Management Plan (DMP)
- Structuring Data
- Documentation
- Storage and Backup
- Long-Term Archiving
- Access Security
- Publication of Research Data
- Re-Use of Research Data
- Legal Aspects,

practical approaches and methods are covered, which participants can adapt and reuse for designing or customizing consulting and training formats.

The sessions are accompanied by practical exercises to reinforce newly acquired knowledge and apply it to participants’ own use cases. Along the way, participants will also become familiar with useful tools and platforms for effectively working with their data.

The workshop concept is based on the current version 5 of the Train-the-Trainer Concept on Research Data ManagementExternal link, originally developed as part of the BMBF project FDMentor.

The two-day workshop is a cooperation between rdm initiatives from North Rhine-Westphalia (fdm.nrw), Saxony (SaxFDM) and Thuringia (TKFDM). Places for this workshop are limited.

Who is this workshop for?

• for anyone who has recently started a new job in research data management (RDM) and would like a comprehensive insight into the various subject areas.
• for anyone who works outside the research context, who repeatedly comes into contact with rdm aspects and would like to build up and expand their basic knowledge
• for anyone who creates counseling, information and training materials and formats and is looking for reusable content.
