Introduction to Experiment Documentation with eLabFTW

eLabFTW is an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) that can be used to plan, document and manage scientific experiments. In this workshop we will learn about the basic functions of eLabFTW using examples.

After familiarising ourselves with the user interface, we will first look at the documentation of experiments. In eLabFTW, these can also be digitally signed and time-stamped in a tamper-proof manner, so that documentation statuses at certain points in time can be verified later. We will create templates for experiments in order to simplify and standardise documentation practice.

We will also export experiments in different formats to make them available outside the application, e.g. for publication purposes.

We also deal with the management of resources -- laboratory equipment, chemicals, samples, materials and the like that are needed to carry out experiments. The use of resources can also be scheduled in eLabFTW. This makes particular sense when eLabFTW is used jointly by a team of researchers, which we will also look at.

The course language is English.
